Feelings...

A. I have a headache,
2. Feeling kind of tired
iii. Most of all I am just feeling lazy.
I have been working on this blog for somewhere between 2 weeks and a month, but to tell you the truth I am not sure, but really it is not that important.

The fact of the matter is that I have not yet been able to trade for my napoleon dynamite doll. I assumed there was still a following, but no luck as of yet. I have gotten more offers for my own things, but no "real" I was planning on working night and day to get my house, but have gotten busy with other things. It is sad really, and I need to start finding time to make these trades happen.

This week I have set a goal to make at least 1 trade this week to get something bigger or better than my doll, wish me luck and keep checking back to see the most recently acquired.

Da Rules

I have had some serious issues with people wanting to do that which is against the rules. So I want to set "Da Rules" so that there will be no more confusion, they are as follows.

1. You may not trade me for anything that is already mine
2. You may not trade me for other people, slavery is illegal
3. You may not trade me for something of less value than the item i currently have, the idea is bigger or better, not smaller or worse

More rules will be posted as needed.

Trade #3 sweet chocolate tin for SWEEEEET!

I am happy to announce that we have our 3rd trade, just as a recap, lets see how things have gone so far. back about a week and a half ago we started the blog so that we could get a house. Imagine having your own home, owning it free and clear, not owing a single red cent to the bank, imagine how good that would feel! This of course this is my goal, but I want to accomplish it before I am 50.

I am getting so close I can taste it. here is how things have progressed over the couple of weeks

1. I got the paper clip (1 cent) from Sarah for free.
2. I traded the paper clip to Marcus for a 1 oz. bag of Doritos (Cool Ranch)(65 cents)
3. I traded the Doritos for a Hersheys tin with 2 pennies in it ($6.02)
4. I traded the tin for a Napoleon Dynamite action figure

That is right, a Napoleon Dynamite action figure, according to ebay, these action figures are selling for between $30 and $40, the one I got was slightly used, so I figure the value is around $10 used, plus he doesn't have his glasses or his jacket like the new ones have, or even a box for that matter.

Trade #2 We Are Well on our Way There!

Imagine the amount of deliciousness of a personal sized bag of Doritos.. That is what happened to a co-worker of mine named Trent Bowen, Trent is one of those guys who is always hungry, but he forgot a lunch. as such, the bag of cool ranch Doritos called to him. He could not resist that 1 oz. bag of goodness.

Trent scavenged around in his desk until he found something bigger and better than my bag of Doritos so that he could obtain them for his own desires. He finally produced a small circular tin that back in 1995 held Hershey Kisses.

To sweeten the deal he printed an auction on Ebay for that same tin selling for 6 dollars with shipping included. That was enough for me and we made the trade.

About 5 seconds later to sweeten the deal even more, he put 2 shiny pennies in the tin. Now that man knows how to make a deal!

We are already up to a value of $6 (according to Ebay)

The First Trade, and I am a Happy Camper

It happened on a cold winters eve, I got my first trade, a co-worker named Marcus saw my blog and was impressed, so impressed in fact he traded me a 1oz bag of Doritos cool ranch chips for my paper clip!

By my calculations that paper clip is worth 1 cent and the bag of delicious Doritos cool ranch chips is worth 65 cents in a vending machine which means that if i continue at the pace I am currently at, multiplying the the value of the traded item by 65 times every 2 days, I will have a house 6 days from now!!!

Here is why, because .65 x 65 =42.24 that means 2 days from now I would have something worth $42.24 then i would trade it for something worth 65 times its value I would have something worth $2746.25 and then when I trade that for something 65 times its value I will have something worth $178506.25 which I could trade for a house!

Man this is going to be easier than I thought!

Change of Plans

I have received much criticism so there is going to be a change of plans...

Many have responded to my posts, saying that I should have started with a paper clip because that is the way that things traditionally start.... so I suppose it makes sense and I have decided to keep my beautiful black swing line stapler, and give up a paper clip instead

So in short make offers on my paper clip to biggerbetterblog.blogspot.com and make me an offer I can't refuse, also to let everyone know I am going to be contacting other people on craigslist, youtube etc. to find potential trades, so keep your eyes open for the start of our beautiful journey

The Bigger Better Blog; 1 Day Later

Well, one day has passed since thebiggerbetterblog.blogspot.com was born, already we have had a roller coaster of fun! I am doing some local marketing for the bigger better blog here at my office, I have the featured stapler on the wall of my cubicle with the blogs domain name and have had some interest, seriously people are mobbing me and trying to get the beautiful stapler, but I say every time they do "make a formal request on my site and I will consider it" I plan on having a time line of the items that were traded for.

To be honest, since I posted my beautiful swing line stapler as the first item to be traded, things have been bitter sweet, I remember all the things I have stapled with it, all the fun that we have had together, and the times we would go to the park together and swing on the swings talking about our future together, the way that we would ride our tandem bike together.... but as the walrus said "the time has come"

To answer a question many of you may have about the blog, no I will not accept cash. I feel that that would be detrimental to the progression of the trading. I am open to offers for things that are interesting or creative, and also as an added bonus, I will give away an extra gift for the first exchanger! you will receive it in the mail along with your stapler after you have mailed the object traded for to me, remember that this is for a good cause, and will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. The Bigger and Better Blog

Hi my name is Davin, it is pronounced dah-ven, well never mind that. This blog has a special purpose, the purpose of this blog is to get me a house! yes a house... you may say to yourself, how is this to be done? Is this man crazy or stupid? well to be honest, the answer is both, but that is besides the point. Let me tell you how i intend to turn this blog into a house!

When I was young I was introduced to a game called "bigger and Better" or "Bigger or Better" the object of the game is to start out with a paper clip in your hand, then you go to your neighbors house and knock on their door, when they open the door, you say to "I have this paper clip, do you have anything that is bigger or better than this paper clip that you would be willing to give me?" at that point they go into their house and the provide something like a kitchen sponge, you then exchange the paper clip for the item provided, thank them and move on to the next house, again you knock on the door, and you ask them if they have anything bigger or better than the kitchen sponge, they then provide you with a bike tire, you continue on, until you you have some thing either much larger or much better. I have had friends who ended this game with a broken down volkswagen, or have ended up with an authentic Tiffany lamp or something else that was much more valuable than the original "paper clip"

One night as I layed in bed thinking random thoughts, I said to myself "If I could play that game longer than a couple of hours, I but I could get something of real value!" so I decided at that point to find a way to make it happen, well here it is! I am starting out the game on this blog with something much better than a simple paper clip, i am starting out with a genuine
